How is your investing going?

Are you confused as to what to do at the moment? Are interest rates going up, or are they stabilising? Either way, at times like what we are experiencing at the moment, it can be confusing as to what to do, or what not to do.

Is it the right time to buy property, or to buy shares, or both, or neither? Often the way forward for people when feeling insecure, is to do nothing. However with uncertainty in the market place, “nothing” could be the last thing you should be doing.

As part of our commitment to ensure that our clients and friends continue on their path to financial security and prosperity, we have organised the upcoming “Investment Overview Evening”. We will cover a number of topics and techniques during the evening to help you understand the differing aspects of investment success.

5 of the key investing components you will access during the evening include:

  • 1
Finance - Save $1000's in interest

We have recently obtained access to a loan facility for our clients, that could save you over $410,000 worth of interest on a $400,000 loan over its term. In this situation your 30 year home loan would be cut down to less than 18 years. These figures are also based upon the borrower having a net income of $4,000 per month and an expenditure of $3,500 per month, with the interest rate being utilized of 9.52%.^^ We will run through the mechanics of how this facility works.

To fix or not to fix your interest rates, what do professional investors do?  This will be discussed during the evening.

Even if you are not yet investing, cutting down your credit card debt can provide an important foundation to kick starting your investing, we will discuss ways to cut down your bad debt.

Stock Market - Create real Cashflow

Andrew Baxter who represents mCorp Global Securities and Halifax Investment Services Ltd. will cover the principles behind our “Ultimate Trading Strategy” and also outline the specifics of the most recent completed trade which achieved a result of a 37% gain in just 71 days. **

It is not enough to forget about the stock market because you may not be interested, you may have lost money in the past or feel you don’t know enough about shares. Short term trading can be a profitable way for those few who are extremely disciplined and educated in the way of the share market; however for the rest of us that know little and lack the discipline required, what can we do?

  • 3
Property - Create equity in a flat market

What to buy and what not to buy is the obvious topic - during the evening we'll expand on this. We will talk about the core assets that should be present in any investment property portfolio so that we can weather the storm of what the market place can dish up to us as investors.

Insurance - Protecting yourself from the worst cases

Investment success is as much about managing the down side risks as anything else. There are a wide range of things that can go wrong and during those times, you want to have made sure that the most suitable forms of protection are in place. Such insurance can include having your own personal insurances, like income protection, and life cover present; and having them set up correctly based on your individual and also your family's circumstances.

Having suitable protection means also insuring against the down side risk of buying property, as well as shares. Most people are familiar with having insurance to protect themselves from the financial loss of their house burning down, but few take advantage of being able to insure their share portfolio from going down in value. We will talk “Capital Protection” in our session on successful Stock Market investing.
